The theory behind my brand of scraplifting is simple.
"Create a scrapbook page that is Uniquely Yours! One that tells your story and reflects your personal style, but found its inspiration from somewhere else." ~ Michelle

Lifted, the book ~ See what it's all about

What do you mean, Lifted?

Lifted is short for the term, "scraplifting", the concept of using another artist's scrapbook page as inspiration for your own. It's something I do, as a visual inspired person, all the time. I find inspiration in all things around me; scrapbook pages, fashion, even advertisements. This book focuses solely on inspiration from scrapbook pages. I've broken down the idea of lifting in a way that is fun, simple to understand, yet still personal.

The concept of the book is based around the word itself, L.I.F.T.E.D. The formula is easy:

L=Layout
I=Image (photo)
F=Format
T=Tiltle
E=Extras (embellishments, etc.)
D=Dye (color)

Each of the six chapters has the same basic layout; an introduction to the chapter's lifting concept (layout, Image, etc) with a series of 'study' pages that explain, visually, the concept. Then each chapter has eight "lift sets," which consist of a two-page spread featuring an 'original' layout on the left-hand side (designed by either Michelle or one of the two other artists; Angie Dunn and Dayna Behning) then two 'lifted' layouts on the right-hand side of the page. Each "lift set" includes detailed descriptions of what was lifted, why and how.  There are over 160 layouts to learn from and each shows something special you can utilize in your own layouts and cards.
